Robin Gut is assistant and doctoral student at the chair of Prof. Daniel Kübler at the Centre for Democracy Studies Aarau (ZDA) since April 2021. In his dissertation, he investigates referendums in non- and semidemocratic countries worldwide. In the course of his dissertation, he also contributes to the development of the Referendum Database RDB, hosted at the ZDA: https://report.rdb.vote/. Since 2022, Robin teaches the BA-Seminar «Fifty Shades of Democracy» on democratization and democracy measurement. Additionally, he supports the scientific evaluation of the citizen panel projects at the ZDA. In addition, he supports the scientific evaluation of the citizen panel projects at the ZDA and studies the political behaviour of adolescents and young adults.
Born 1989 in Zurich, 2009-2014 Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Contemporary History at the University of Zurich. From 2015-2018, Robin completed the Mono-Master programme in Political Science with a specialization in «Democracy, Development and International Relations» at the University of Zurich. Alongside his studies, Robin contributed to the SNSF project «the Genesis of Consociational Oligarchies» as a Research Assistant to Prof. Daniel Bochsler at the Centre for Democracy Studies Aarau. From 2018 to 2021, Robin worked as a political advisor in security policy for the Swiss Federal Government.
