Curriculum vitae

Gabriel Hofmann, currently a PhD candidate under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Daniel Kübler at the Centre for Democracy Studies Aarau (ZDA), is writing his dissertation in the SNF project "Direct Democracy Switzerland in the 21st Century (DDS-21)" (https://www.dds21.uzh.ch/de.html) since July 2023. His research focuses on the impact of digital media on opinion formation in popular votes in Switzerland. In addition to his doctoral studies, he is also involved in the preparation of reports, smaller research contributions, and is engaging in teaching activities. Between 2021 to 2023, Gabriel served as a scientific collaborator in the DigiPartIndex project (https://digipartindex.ch/en/), working alongside Prof. Dr. Serdült.
 
Born in 1995, Gabriel pursued his bachelor's degree in social science (focus political science) and philosophy from 2016 to 2019 at the University of Zurich and Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Following this, he obtained his master’s degree in social science (focus political science) from the University of Zurich between 2020 and 2023. During his studies, he was working as a research assistant at the chair of Policy Analysis & Evaluation, led by Prof. Dr. Widmer. In this role, he participated in various research projects and gained first experiences with teaching.
