Out now: The IPZ podcast "PoliTea"

PoliTea is here! Our student association Polito has been producing a podcast since 2025 that explores exciting political science topics in an accessible, entertaining, and informative way. Each episode features different guests from our department who join the discussion. It’s a fantastic project, and we wish it many listeners and viewers (there are also video episodes)!
PoliTea is available for free on all major streaming platforms.
Study information days 2025

The Study Information Days will take place on Wednesday, September 3 and Thursday, September 4, 2025 at UZH. On two days, all Bachelor's degree programs will be presented and students and lecturers will take time to answer questions in the exhibition in the atrium.
Welcome Days 2025 - Welcome to IPZ
Dear First-Semester Students
We are delighted that you have chosen Political Science as your field of study! To help you get off to a smooth start, the First-Semester Day will take place on Thursday, 11 September 2025. During this event, you will receive important information about your studies and have the opportunity to make your first connections with your fellow students and the dedicated members of our student association Polito.
The presentations are expected to take place in the Main Building, Rämistrasse 71, 8006 Zurich, in room KOL-H-312. Here you can download the PowerPoint slides from last year’s event. These will be updated here after the Welcome Days.
- 08:15 – 08:45: Welcome by the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
- 09:15 – 10:15: BA Political Science Minor: Content and Structure of the Study Program
- 10:45 – 11:45: BA & MA Political Science Major and Mono: Content of the Study Programs and Introduction to the Professors of the IPZ
Starting at 12:00 p.m., you will be accompanied in small groups by your student association Polito – as described in the enclosed letter – to the cafeteria and guided through the various university locations.
For MA students, we offer an information event on Tuesday, 9 September from 15:00 to 16:15, focusing on the Political Science program and its four areas of specialization. It will take place at the IPZ building, room AFL-F-121. The slides for this session will also be made available to you afterwards.

Interesting news about mobility, internship announcements, (summer) job offers, information about research projects, lectures, events and other news from the IPZ - from now on, the Teaching Team will inform you about everything that is still exciting about studying at the IPZ via our mailing list for students. Career talks
With the support of the IPZ, the student representation POLITO organizes every year the well-established networking event «Career Talks». Alumn:ae introduce themselves and their professional positions. Afterwards, they will also be available to answer questions and talk to the audience whilst enjoying a small aperitif. A direct impression of the great career paths that can be pursued from the IPZ!

Graduation ceremony
Each autumn, our institute organizes a ceremony for graduates to celebrate the successful completion of their BA, MA or doctoral theses.
For the best theses at all three levels, the graduates receive a prize.
