André Walter is a SNSF Ambizione Grant Holder at the Department of Political Science at the University of Zurich. Before joining Zurich, he held positions at the University of St. Gallen and the University of Lausanne and was visiting researcher at the University of Konstanz and the University of Bremen. André works at the intersection of comparative politics and comparative political economy. In his current project, he investigates how socio-economic developments and political institutions shape the preferences of political actors towards electoral reform. In addition, he examines how the impact of large-scale processes and events such as globalization and war on support for economic and social policies is moderated by political ideologies and cleavages. The results of his work have been published in outlets such as the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, Socio-Economic Review, the Journal of European Public Policy, and the European Journal of Political Research.
