Michele Fenzl is a postdoctoral researcher in the Chair of Political Institutions and European Politics. He completed a BA and MA in International Affairs at the University of Bologna (Italy), before moving to the University of Essex (UK) for a MSc in Political Economy. He was then awarded a PhD studentship from the UK Economic and Social Research Council, with enhancement for Advanced Quantitative Methods. At Essex, he then completed a PhD in Government in 2019. In the Spring of 2018, he was also a visiting researcher in the Department of Government of Cornell University (USA). While his PhD thesis focused on the politics of inequality in established democracies, his broader research interests include comparative political economy, political behavior, European politics, and the politics of public health. His research work so far appeared on West European Politics and is currently forthcoming on the Journal of Politics.
