Fabian Marugg is a research assistant at the Research Area “International Security, Peace and Conflict. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Modern History at the University of Zurich. After graduating, he gained some field experience as a member of the European Union peacebuilding mission «Althea» in Bosnia & Herzegowina where he was engaged as a political observer in the ethnically divided city of Mostar. Extending insights from his work experience, he began working as a research assistant in the field of International Security, Peace and Conflict, headed by Dr. Hannah Smidt. In the autumn of 2021, he started his master’s degree in History and Philosophy of Knowledge at the ETH Zurich, focussing on the interplay between technological development and political stability. At ETH Zurich, Fabian is also a research assistant at the Chair of Negotiation and Conflict Management of Prof. Dr. Michael Ambühl.
