Valentina Consiglio is a PhD student at the Department of Political Science at the University of Zurich and part of the University Research Priority Programme (URPP) "Equality of Opportunity".
She studied Sociology, Politics and Economics (BA) at Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen and Public Policy with a focus on Social Protection (MSc) at Maastricht University and the United Nations University MERIT. From 2018 to 2022, she worked as a Project Manager at the Bertelsmann Foundation on income and mobility dynamics in the German labour market, cooperating with leading economic research institutes and the OECD.
Her dissertation focuses on the social and geographical drivers of labour market inequalities and their political implications. A core interest is to investigate structural barriers to good jobs and social mobility and the possibility to address these through policy making.
