Tim Lars Allinger is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of Comparative Politics and Empirical Democracy Research. He received his PhD in Political Science from Aarhus University, and previously studied Political Science at the University of Mannheim (MA) and Social Science the University of Cologne (BSc). His research lies at the intersection of comparative politics and political behavior, addressing the growing challenges contemporary democracies face. He studies how political and societal conflicts evolve within and beyond the electoral arena, with a particular focus on the forms of political participation citizens consider legitimate and engage in - ranging from conventional practices to extremist and antidemocratic expressions.
