Research Focus

My name is Nicolà Andrea Gfeller, and I am 23 years old. In 2023, I completed my bachelor's degree in Political Science as well as Communication and Media Research at the University of Zurich. Since this fall, I have been part of the ETH master's program in Comparative and International Studies. As part of my training at ETH, I am primarily being trained in "large-n" and "small-n" methods, as well as various approaches in between. Additionally, thematic focuses such as "Political Violence" and "Democracy" are part of the program. The studies are very challenging and time-intensive, but I am especially passionate about engaging with peace and conflict research.

For financial reasons, I am pursuing my master's degree part-time, which allows me to work alongside my studies. Through the DigiVox project, I have found an exciting position as a research assistant, providing me with my first insights into the world of research.

Outside of my academic life, I am an enthusiastic endurance athlete. For five years, I pursued competitive triathlon. However, due to health and time constraints, I have transitioned to less structured but still regular and intensive endurance training.

I am excited to be part of the IPZ team and look forward to the opportunities and challenges that my position will bring.
