Curriculum vitae

My name is Nicolà Andrea Gfeller. I am 24 years old and completed my Bachelor’s degree in Political Science as well as Communication and Media Studies at the University of Zurich in 2023. Since the autumn semester of 2024, I have been enrolled in the Master’s program in Comparative and International Studies at ETH Zurich. There, I am receiving a solid training in social science research methods and focus on political violence, democracy, and related topics. I am particularly interested in conflict research, nationalism, and research methodology. Although the program is demanding and time-intensive, I greatly enjoy engaging with the socially and politically relevant questions it addresses.

As I am pursuing my Master’s degree part-time, I have the opportunity to work on various projects alongside my studies. Through DigiVox, I have taken on an exciting position as a research assistant, which is giving me valuable first insights into quantitative research practice. What I find most fascinating about DigiVox are the insights into the implementation and administrative processes of surveys, data collection, and the analysis of public opinion in the context of digitalization and its societal implications.

Outside of academia, I am a passionate endurance athlete. For five years, I competed in triathlon before transitioning to long-distance running.

I am very excited to be part of the IPZ team and to contribute to its research activities.
