Curriculum vitae

Junmo Cheon was born in Changwon, South Korea, and completed his bachelor’s degree in political science and economics at Soongsil University in Seoul in 2015. He subsequently pursued a master’s degree in political science at the University of Zurich (UZH), with a focus on political economy and philosophy. In his master’s thesis, he examined responsiveness in the field of climate policy in EU member states. In parallel with his master’s studies, he worked as a correspondent for the National Election Commission (NEC) Korea.

Since February 2022, he has been a PhD candidate at the Centre for Democracy Studies Aarau (ZDA) under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Kübler. His research focuses in particular on environmental and energy policy, as well as on the influence of right-wing populist parties. In addition, he has been involved in various report analyses for the cantons of Zurich and Aargau.)
