Jennifer Victoria Scurrell is a postdoctoral researcher and computational social scientist at the Chair of Political Methodology. Her research spans human-AI interaction and design, responsible AI, pluralistic AI alignment, AI safety, and red teaming. She is a co-initiator at Public AI Switzerland, studying Swiss residents' AI preferences to support Swiss sovereign AI with Apertus, and serves as a research consultant on AI and human rights at the Geneva Human Rights Hub (GHRH). She has been a member of OpenAI's Red Teaming Network for the past three years and collaborates with Microsoft's red team and CELA on harmful AI manipulation. She also collaborates on Science-Arts initiatives, such as with the Schauspielhaus Zürich.
Jennifer received her PhD from ETH Zurich, experimentally examining how AI chatbots influence political opinions and behavior in group settings. She also holds an MA in Political Science and a BA in Political Science and Modern History, both from the University of Zurich.
