Juri Ezzaini was born and raised in Lucerne. After completing a Bachelor's degree at the University of Zurich (UZH) in Political Science (Major) and Economics (Minor), he is now pursuing a Master's degree with the same combination of subjects. In his Bachelor's thesis, he focused on the intrinsic motivations of states to manipulate their GDP data. Since February 2024, he has been working as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Democracy Studies Aarau (ZDA), where his research includes topics such as the voting age 16 and referendums. He is co-author of the «World of Referendums: 2024 Edition» Report. Other research interests include U.S. (foreign) policy, International Relations & Geopolitics (with a focus on power and Great Power Competition), technology, and democratic institutions.
