Flavia Caroni is a PostDoc at the Chair for Democracy and Public Governance of Prof. Dr. Daniel Kübler. In her dissertation project, she researched strategies and activities of organizers of citizen’s initiatives in Switzerland, relying on a comparative case study. She is interested in direct democracy, Swiss politics, questions of democracy, and qualitative research methods. Besides her research, Flavia Caroni is teaching a tutorial in the framework of the BA lecture “Systems and Theories of Political Science”. In previous semesters, she autonomously taught a BA module on citizen’s initiatives from an international perspective.
Flavia Caroni studied Political Science, Social Sciences, Economics, and Business Administration in Bern and Bologna from 2011 to 2017. Besides her studies, she worked at the University of Bern’s Année Politique Suisse for several years, where she was the author of the chapter on social security.
